About Us

Pegasus Creative Reuse began as a shared dream between Dorothy Villarreal and Ernie Diaz, two tech professionals with artistic hearts and a deep commitment to community and sustainability. Inspired by Dorothy's upbringing—where resourcefulness was a way of life—they envisioned a space where creativity could flourish without waste. During a drive back to Dallas from Shreveport, Louisiana, they decided to turn that dream into reality. Within three months, they secured a storefront in Tyler Station, named their venture Pegasus Creative Reuse, and started collecting donations from the community.

Their efforts quickly transformed Pegasus into a vibrant hub for artists, educators, and crafters seeking affordable, sustainable materials. The store not only diverted over 500 pounds of art supplies from landfills but also fostered a sense of community through workshops and events

In 2025, as Dorothy and Ernie planned to move closer to family in Mexico, Aimé Nuñez stepped in to continue their mission. Bringing her own passion for art and community, Aimé continues to expan Pegasus's reach, implementing a pay-what-you-want model and reorganizing the space better serve its patrons.

Today, Pegasus Creative Reuse continues to soar under the care of Aimé Nuñez, who brings her own creative spirit and passion for connection. Aimé has deepened Pegasus’s roots in the community by partnering with local businesses, artists, and organizations to host special events, pop-ups, and hands-on workshops. From collaborative art nights to sustainability fairs, she’s helping make Pegasus not just a store—but a creative movement that invites everyone to imagine, make, and reuse together.
